"We didn't even know this place was here when we were invited to this happy couples wedding as long time family friends. We were met with drinks on arrival, Canapés which were beautiful, tasty and mouth-watering and they just kept coming! When we sat down for the wedding dinner - WOW - the food was amazing! We had the beef and it just melted in your mouth and the potatoes and veg that were served alongside were just as amazing. The service was first class - all of the staff were so pleasant and helpful and couldn't do enough to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. We had more family come out for the evening do and were so surprised at the décor and the way it was set up then they brought out platters to share. It was a mixture hams and cheeses with olives, bread and crackers. So different and original that it worked really well and everyone commented on this. In all it was a fantastic day and night and we will definitely be going back as a group for a meal or Sunday lunch."

"We wanted to add our thanks to you and the team at Skitby for the wonderful day we had on the 31st May. We certainly had a day to remember, and we appreciate so much the help you gave in the run up to the wedding and throughout the celebrations. So many people have complimented us on the choice of venue, but really that is all down to you and your efforts to make it such a great place to have such an event. People have been saying how they loved the atmosphere, the grounds, the furniture, the setting - everything really! But most of all they have been raving, and I mean RAVING, about the food. There are a number of people who have mentioned that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding, and I'd definitely be one of them! Even though there was a lot going on for me at the time, I recall sitting at the top table and watching the staff at work - they really were so competent and efficient. The system you employed to serve and clear tables was really impressive. The kitchen door would open, the staff would troop out and in seconds a whole table was served or cleared. This could easily have escaped my notice because it was almost as if it all happened automatically - everyone was so good at what they were doing. I am certain a lot of hard work went into everything, but everyone working at Skitby that day gave off an air of calm, which really translated into a lovely atmosphere for the guests to relax and enjoy themselves. It goes without saying that Diane and I will recommend you at every opportunity, that we and our families will be back for meals, and that you will be sure to have lots of future custom from the guests who came and enjoyed themselves so much on our wedding day. Most are local but not too many were familiar with Skitby House beforehand, but I'm sure there will be many loyal customers generated from the hard work you put in, and richly deserved too. So, a massive thank you from us. We will always have a fantastic day to remember and you played a massive part in that - we appreciate it so much."
